The Multicultural Greek Community is working with Embrace Kids Foundation and RWJUH to ensure local children with cancer, sickle cell and other blood disorders have access to life saving blood transfusions. Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. That means more than 40,000 blood donations are needed every day. African-Americans account for 7.3% and Hispanics account for 4.4% of nationwide blood donations & increasing the number of minority blood donors is critical to the overall stability of our blood supply.
Everyone who registers online and then presents to donate will receive a $10 gift card to Hansel ‘n Griddle which is not transferable for cash. All donors must be at least 17 years old (16 year olds must have a written parental consent), weigh at least 110 lbs. (16 year olds must weigh 120 lbs.), be in good health and bring Photo ID. Please eat a good meal and drink plently of fluids before donating.
